| Rehearsals for School Choirs |
| It is vital that your choir
is able to attend the following rehearsals. |
| There are just two rehearsals
that your choir will have to travel to before their Performance Night
in the Festival - a Massed
Rehearsal and the Morning Rehearsal before your performance. |
| Massed Rehearsals -
a rehearsal with some of the other choirs in the festival. |
| |
When you apply
to participate in the Festival, you will be able to indicate your preference for a morning or an afternoon rehearsal with other choirs in the festival at the Massed Rehearsal. This year these rehearsals will be held at Christ's College over two days. Your choir only needs to attend ONE
rehearsal - EITHER the morning session 9.45am - 11.45am OR the afternoon session 12.45pm - 2.45pm on Wednesday, 18th August OR Thursday, 19th August. We will let
you know the time for your school's Massed
Rehearsal when your school's representative attends the Teachers'
Demonstration Meeting. |
|
| |
This rehearsal
will allow you as Director of your choir to find out which areas
of the repertoire you need to focus on, and it allows the Music
Directors of the Festival an opportunity to start to mould the massed
choir sound. |
| Morning Rehearsal -
before the Night's Performance |
| |
When you apply
to participate in the Festival, you will be able to indicate your
top three preferences for a Performance Night for the Festival.
Your choir only attends ONE performance night but you must give
us three choices - we need to balance the combination of choirs
for each night. We will let you know your performance night at the
Teachers' Demonstration Meeting. |

| |
Your school choir
rehearses at the Town Hall 10.00am - 12.15pm on
the morning of your Performance Night. You MUST arrive AT LEAST
by 9.30am, preferably earlier so that your choir can be properly
seated before the rehearsal commences. |
